Morris-Sussex Hockey Report Top 5, Player of the Week for Feb. 21

Here's a look at this week's Morris-Sussex Hockey Report Top 5 rankings.

1-Delbarton (3-3-1)

It was a tough week for the Green Wave, as it tied St. Joseph of Montvale, before dropping games to Bergen Catholic (ranked No. 2 by NJ.com), and Gloucester Catholic (ranked No. 1). It will take on Pope John on Monday in a big area battle.

2-Morristown-Beard (5-1-1)

The Crimson kept rolling this week, with convincing wins over Morristown, Pingry, and Morris Knolls-Hills. It scored eight, seven, and eight goals in those games respectively, despite missing key players for both the Pingry and Morris Knolls-Hills games.

3-Morris Knolls-Hills (4-4-1)

Knolls-Hills had an impressive win over Morristown, before falling 8-3 to Morristown-Beard on Saturday night. It has a game with a strong Madison team as well as a rematch with Morristown-Beard this week.

4-Randolph (2-1-1)

Randolph was idle again this week, but is expected to return to the ice on Friday against Morristown.

5-Chatham (2-3)

Chatham was also idle this week, and will return with a very busy week. It will face Morristown Tuesday, followed by Morristown-Beard on Wednesday, and Morris Knolls-Hills on Saturday.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Seth Kaplan, Morristown-Beard, Sr. Forward

Kaplan hit a career milestone in Friday's win over Pingry, as he reached 100 career points. He had a hat trick and two assists in the team's 7-2 win over Pingry, which is ranked No. 10 in the state by NJ.com. That performance put him up to 102 career points, and then he followed it up with another big output on Saturday as he had two goals and an assist in an impressive 8-3 win over Morris Knolls-Hills. In total, he has 106 career points- 54 goals and 52 assists, and has 10 goals and five assists this season.
