March 2 recap: Morristown-Beard girls advance to NJIGIHL Cup final

GIRLS: MORRISTOWN-BEARD 6, CHATHAM 1

Leah Stecker recorded a hat trick and an assist as top seed Morristown-Beard moved past fifth-seed Chatham, 6-1, in the semifinals of the NJIGIHL Cup at Twin Oaks Ice Rink.


Morristown-Beard advanced to Friday's NJIGIHL Cup final, where it will take on the winner of tomorrow's semifinal between second-seed Summit and sixth-seed Kent Place.


Lilli Warnock scored twice for Morristown-Beard, which improved its record to a perfect 6-0. Logan Sutera added a goal and an assist, while Brooklyn Chen dished out two assists. Gracie Meyers turned away 11 out of 12 shots.


Kate Romano scored the lone goal for Chatham (4-4).
