Feb. 26 recap: Morristown-Beard girls advance in NJIGIHL Cup

Girls NJIGIHL CUP: MORRISTOWN-BEARD 13, MADISON 0

Jessica Sperling recorded a hat trick and three assists to lead top seed Morristown-Beard to a 13-0 win over eight-seed Madison in the NJIGIHL Cup quarterfinals at Twin Oaks Ice Rink.


Lilli Warnock had a hat trick and two assists for Morristown-Beard (5-0), which will face fifth-seed Chatham in the semifinals on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks. Logan Sutera and Avery Garland each recorded four points- with one goal and three assists. Leah Stecker had two goals and an assist, while Kailin Kane added a goal and two assists.


Gracie Meyers stopped all 15 shots to earn the shutout.


HILLSBOROUGH 4, KJS UNITED 1

Brock Forrest had two goals and two assists as Hillsborough defeated KJS United, 4-1 at Skylands Ice World.


Patrick Lewicki recorded two goals and an assist, while Nolan Collison tallied three assists for Hillsborough (3-4). Jason LoRicco made 19 saves and Louis Bizzoco made four in the win.


Kyle Sutton scored KJS United's lone goal. Brett Lewis made 49 saves.
